Soft Tissue Management

Soft Tissue Management is a treatment strategy to control your gum disease. If diagnosed with gum disease, our team can help get you back to feeling healthy.

Maintain healthy gums for life

At Hall Dental Centre, our patients often ask us about what they can do to keep their gums healthy. Our answer varies by patient, but one thing remains the same: we can develop a personalized plan designed to maintain healthy gums for life.

How will I know if I need a soft tissue management plan?

During your regular check-up, your dentist or hygienist will examine your gums for areas that are infected or inflamed (or 'periodontal pockets'). These periodontal pockets are a sign of gum disease. If you have periodontal pockets, we may recommend a soft tissue management plan in order to prevent progression of gum disease.

What can I expect in a soft tissue management plan?

Your soft tissue management plan will be fully customized by the Hall Dental Centre team to address your unique needs. Your plan may include any combination of the following:

  • Frequent hygiene appointments
  • Root planning and scaling
  • Specialized home care routines
  • Antibiotics
  • In rare cases, surgical procedures may be required.

What results can I expect if I follow my soft tissue management plan?

Healthy gums! The primary goal of any soft tissue management plan is to get the gum disease under control and get your gums back to health.

Your plan will be designed to eliminate the inflammation and infected areas of your gums and root surfaces.

As a result of following your plan, you may start to notice that your gums are not as tender or inflamed, that there is less bleeding or that inflammation, tenderness and bleeding have stopped altogether.

Your Hall Dental Centre hygiene team will guide you each step of the way to controlling and eliminating your periodontal disease. Contact us today to book a consultation.
