Dental Implant Placement in Lethbridge

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are made from titanium. They are inserted into the jawbone and capped with a crown or bridge to replace missing teeth.

Two-step Process

The dental implant procedure consists of two steps including the dental implant placement and the dental implant restoration.

Step 1: Implant Placement

The titanium "root" is placed in your jawbone during a short surgical procedure. We will administer a local anesthetic to the area.

You should not experience any pain during this surgery. The titanium "root" is implanted into the jawbone using a very exact surgical technique. When the implant is in place, we will close your gum tissue over the implant root. At this point, your surgery is complete.

After the implant has been placed, your will need time to heal. As your soft tissue heals, the implant "root" will bond with the bone in your jaw.

It can take up to several months for the soft tissue to fully heal. Your rate of healing depends on many different factors. Your soft tissue will need to be completely healed before we can proceed with implant restoration.

Step 2: Implant Restoration

The restoration portion of the procedure takes place after you have healed from the surgical placement.

It involves attaching either a dental crown or a bridge to the implants to fill the gaps left by your missing teeth.

This portion of the procedure has the dual benefit of restoring the function and appearance of your teeth and smile. » Learn More
